Episode 14 — A Study of Titus

Grace: Where It Starts and Where It Ends

Titus 3:12–15 & Full Letter Review

Paul closes his letter the way he opened it — with grace. In this final episode on Titus, we meet the real people who carried the gospel at personal cost, sit with the call to meet the pressing needs around us, and take one last look at the whole letter: three chapters, one coherent vision, held together by the grace that started it and the grace that will complete it.

✎ Episode Notes

◆

Paul names four real people — Artemas, Tychicus, Zenas, and Apollos — because the gospel travels through people, not abstractions.

◆

Verse 14: devotion to good works has to be learned and cultivated — it isn't automatic just because we believe the right things.

◆

The letter's first theological word is grace; its last word is grace — everything in between lives inside that frame.

◆

Three chapters, one vision: leadership (ch.1), community formation (ch.2), and civic life (ch.3) — sound doctrine and godly living, inseparable.

✍ From the Study Notes

"Grace be with all of you."

— Titus 3:15, BSB

The First Word and the Last. Paul opened Titus with grace and closes it the same way. Every instruction in between — the elders, the false teachers, the household codes, the good works — lives inside that frame. The goal was never just to finish the letter; it was to be changed by it. Where do you most need to feel that frame around your life right now?

ἀναγκαίας

anagkaias

adjective · ah-nang-KYE-as

Necessary, pressing, urgent. Paul isn't describing optional generosity — he's describing a community that has made itself available for the real, urgent needs arising around it.
